Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Furbit — what you are buying, what we promise, and what we do not.
Draft dated
The short version
- You pay ₹999 once for a tag. There is no subscription and no renewal.
- The tag is a way for a stranger to reach you. It is not a tracker, and it cannot promise that a lost pet comes home.
- The Health Vault is a place to keep records. It is not veterinary advice and it is not a substitute for a vet.
- What you put in is yours. We store it and show it to the people you choose.
- Furbit v1 ships within India only.
Who this agreement is between
These terms are between you and the company that operates Furbit. By buying a tag, activating one, or using the Furbit website, you agree to them.
Founder / counsel to confirm: the contracting legal entity, its registered address, and its GSTIN.
What Furbit is
Furbit is a physical tag carrying a QR code, paired with a profile page for your pet. Anyone who scans the tag sees the profile and can reach you. You also get an owner dashboard, a Health Vault for records, Recovery Mode for when a pet goes missing, and a Care Circle for sharing access with people you trust.
The tag itself is a stainless-steel object; the service behind it is a website that works in any modern browser. No app is required — not for you, and not for whoever finds your pet.
Your account
- You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. Keep access to that number — it is how you get into your account.
- Give us details that are accurate, and keep them current. A profile with an old phone number cannot bring a pet home.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you invite to your Care Circle do with the access you gave them.
- One tag belongs to one pet at a time. A tag that is already active cannot be activated again by someone else.
Buying a tag
- A Furbit tag is ₹999, paid once. There is no recurring charge of any kind.
- Payment is taken by our payment processor using UPI, card or netbanking. There is no cash on delivery.
- Your order is confirmed once payment is captured, not when checkout is opened.
- We ship within India only.
Founder to decide, and counsel to check against the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020: whether ₹999 is inclusive of GST and of shipping; the dispatch and delivery windows we commit to; and what happens if a tag arrives damaged or never arrives.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Founder to decide, and counsel to check: the cancellation window before dispatch, whether an unused tag can be returned and within how many days, how a personalised engraved tag is treated, the refund method and timeline, and who pays return shipping. This section is intentionally blank rather than filled with a plausible-sounding policy. It must be answered before payments are switched on — a published returns and refunds policy is also expected as part of payment-gateway onboarding.
Using Furbit properly
Do not:
- Put anything on a public profile that is unlawful, or that belongs to someone else who has not agreed to it.
- Use another person’s tag, or claim a pet that is not yours.
- Try to break, probe or overload the service, or to reach data that is not yours.
- Scrape profiles, or use Furbit to collect information about the people who scan tags.
Remember that a public profile is genuinely public — anyone holding the tag can see it. Put on it what a stranger needs to help your pet, and nothing you would not want a stranger to read.
Recovery Mode
Marking a pet lost switches the public profile into a recovery view and lets a finder share their location with you. It is a way to make a stranger’s help easier to give.
It is not a tracking device. Furbit knows nothing about where your pet is unless a person scans the tag, and it cannot and does not promise a recovery.
Health Vault and your content
- The records you upload remain yours. You give us permission to store them and to show them to you and to the people you share them with — nothing more. We do not use them for anything else.
- The Health Vault is a filing cabinet, not a clinician. Nothing in Furbit is veterinary advice, and it does not replace a vet.
- Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups, but a single online copy of an irreplaceable document is never a good idea.
Availability
We aim to keep the scan and recovery paths — the parts that matter when a pet is missing — available at all times, and we monitor them separately from the rest of the site. We cannot promise the service is never interrupted, and parts of it depend on providers outside our control.
We may change or improve features over time. If we withdraw something you rely on, we will say so rather than let it quietly disappear.
Liability
Counsel to draft: the warranty, limitation-of-liability and indemnity position, including how it interacts with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 — under which some liability cannot be excluded from a consumer. Engineering will not guess at a liability cap, so this section is deliberately empty.
Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Furbit whenever you like, and ask us to archive your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, or to harm someone.
- Archiving an account closes it. It does not erase your history — see the Privacy Policy for what archival means and what is kept.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell you directly before a material change takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Founder / counsel to confirm: the courts of which city have exclusive jurisdiction, and whether a dispute-resolution or arbitration clause is wanted before that.

Founder to supply: the email address and postal address for support and for legal notices.
